About Amelia
AMELIA SIPKIN is an 18- year-old New York City based actress, singer and dancer. Growing up in NYC, Amelia was immersed in theater and began training and performing at a very young age. Attending the Spence School allowed her creativity to blossom, and by the fourth grade she was directing and producing 20 classmates in a production of Shrek that performed at the SYMPHONY SPACE in Manhattan. Since then, not a day has passed that she hasn’t practiced or performed.
Amelia trained intensively for 7 years with The AMERICAN BALLET THEATER (ABT) in NYC, and was the Petite Crispin in ABT’s production of HARLEQUINADE at The Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center. She has starred in over 30 Off-Broadway productions, and played multiple dream roles at The French Woods Festival, including Elle Woods in LEGALLY BLONDE, Emma in the TRW world premiere of THE PROM, Arielle in THE LITTLE MERMAID, Sarah Brown in GUYS AND DOLLS, Babe in THE PAJAMA GAME, Princess Fiona in SHREK, and Jane Seymour in SIX, just to name a few. She has trained with Random Farms productions, Broadway Workshop, A Class Act, and numerous prestigious acting and singing workshops and teachers all around New York City. Vocally, Amelia has trained since she was 10 years old with esteemed Juilliard faculty Badiene Magaziner and Ruobing Zhang.
In August of 2024 Amelia was selected by the NEW YORK POPS ORCHESTRA to be their lead vocal soloist, performing Stephen Sondheim’s The Miller’s Son. She also sang backup vocals for Chilina Kennedy’s NY Pops performance from BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL and performed as Cosette in LES MISERABLES’s One Day More alongside a cast loaded with Broadway talent.
While the stage is her passion, Amelia has enjoyed film and TV work as well, including co-starring roles in HBO’s GOSSIP GIRL, and Alexandra Spieth’s critically acclaimed web series “BLANK MY LIFE.” She has starred in the short films THE SHUFFLEBOTTOMS at NYU Tisch, THE BREADHOUSE at New York’s School for Visual Arts, and REALITY COME TRUE at the Ghetto Film School.
Amelia is currently a high school senior at CHOATE ROSEMARY HALL where she majors in Theater. She studies daily with Drama and Voice faculty, and has starred as Ariel in FOOTLOOSE, Clio/Kira in XANADU, Anon is ANON(YMOUS), Donna is MAMMA MIA!, the Witch in INTO THE WOODS, and Woman 2 in SONGS OF A NEW WORLD across the multiple theaters on campus. She has studied creative writing extensively at Choate, and has written a one woman show which she performed for the entire school and surrounding community. She hones her writing and editing skills daily working for THE CHOATE NEWS, where she has performed dozens of interviews in the Choate community and beyond, and has written and edited hundreds of articles for the newspaper. Amelia is currently serving as the Managing Editor for THE CHOATE NEWS, managing a staff of over 100 students.
Amelia is passionate about the benefits of an arts education for underserved communities and currently works with many troubled teens to provide free singing, acting, and writing lessons, to help them find their voice and boost their confidence. She has performed at multiple fundraisers at 54 BELOW to raise money to benefit multiple arts organizations.
While Amelia plans to spend her entire adult professional life performing and writing for the stage and screen, she is now looking forward to college where she is excited to continue her journey developing as an artist and scholar. Stay tuned for news on upcoming performances…
